A Word From Richard Mason, Founder

An avid diver for many years, I have, much like all divers, spent thousands of dollars on equipment, advanced courses,  and vacations.  A few years ago, I was on a cruise and my daughter and I decided to do a dive in Mexico.  We didn't lug our equipment on this trip because we only planned to dive once.  As my daughter put the rental regulator in her mouth she turned to me and said:  "Dad, this mouthpiece tastes really funky!"  Like any good father would, I took command of the situation and told her to rinse it when she got in the water... knowing that this wouldn't do much to kill any germs.  It was at this moment that I knew the world needed an Anti-Microbial mouthpiece.

With the help of my chemical engineer partner and an eager manufacturer (yes he, too, is a diver) we developed the Divesafe Mouthpiece.  We infused the entire mouthpiece so that it will fight off harmful bacteria for the life of the mouthpiece.  Though surface treatment would allow us to have "designer" colors, we did not want to compromise the Anti-Microbial properties that would wear off long before the mouthpiece.  We wanted a mouthpiece that not only worked, but worked well.  In the end, we opted for a neutral color that was the most highly effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.  I've posted our test results for you to see for yourself.  Our mouthpiece is also designed with a top and bottom biteplate for a comfortable, secure fit.
